PISTOL TARGET SHOOTING

Pistol is shot on the 4th Sunday of each month. Events range from single-shot flintlock muzzle loading ‘Queen Anne’ style of pistol, to the single-shot percussion cap muzzle loading ‘Dueling Pistol’ style, to muzzle loading six-guns of the Colt and Remington period, and finally black powder cartridge pistols of the cowboy period. Events are shot at 25 yards and 50 yards at paper targets untimed. A once a year special ‘Dragoon Pistol’ event is shot over 25 meters, 50 meters, and 100 meters, with full loads. How they managed to stay on their horses after firing a fully charged (60 grains of black powder) Colt Walker is amazing! Just try standing on firm ground firing one.

New additional events include Nitro Firearms of both revolver and semiautomatic actions ranging from 0.22 caliber to 0.45 caliber. Finally every 3rd month Pistol Shooting Events host a 0.22 caliber rifle shoot to assist shooters to comply with their 4 mandatory shoot attendances.

Participants range across all age groups; from junior shooters to the 80 year young retirees. We welcome spectators and experienced shooters.

New shooters should attend our Pistol Training Event running on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
